Patricia Peat on the importance of integratrative cancer treatments

A very inspirational lady Verity Sewell recently posted this on Facebook and it really resonates with the way that I think  - "Its not important to integrate cancer treatments, it's essential -If you or someone you knows has cancer please take 15 minutes to watch this interview with Patricia Peat of Cancer Options

If you are interested in leading a more healthy life, without sacrificing taste and pleasure, then do click on Verity's website - http://www.verityslifestyle.com.

Verity was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in her bones in August 2010 (just before her daughter’s first birthday) at the age of 37.  As she explains on her website, it became apparent to her that although many people diagnosed with this illness investigate a (W)holistic approach,  of which food is one, many struggled with how to integrate or change their eating habits, not surprising perhaps as there are so many things to become “expert” at when diagnosed with a chronic disease.

Verity has completely changed her approach to food and along with the more traditional medical procedures, such as chemotherapy, she attributes her ongoing recovery to adapting her diet.  In fact, her whole life, and that of her family is now as chemical free as possible!  The results are clear to see and not only Verity, but all her family, have increased energy and vitality. Before you start to feel sorry for her that she no longer eats what she wants – the adaptation of her diet has led to meals that are not only good for you, but packed full of flavour.

As well as adapting her diet she also practises EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Pilates, some Meditation, Reiki, Acupuncture and Massage as well as daily walks.   This way of taking back control of her life and her recovery has prompted her to inspire more people to change their eating habits, whether they have a chronic disease or not, and also to use her site to help raise money for charity.
