Interesting article on the Halting Metastasis of Colon Cancer

Progress on the Halting Metastasis Of Colon Cancer.  A Basque research consortium has managed to halt the progress of colon cancer and its metastasis in the liver in an experimental model with mice. This advance, that may open a new path for the future treatment of such pathologies, has been achieved by creating molecules which interfere with the adhesion of tumour cells to other cells of the organism.

I certainly hope that real progress is made as over 50% of co rectal cancer patients go on to have metastasis in their liver, which is not liver cancer, but where the original cancer cells travel through the blood or lymph systems get caught by the liver and then go on to become a new tumour away from the original site.
